The other day, I heard a weird *clunk clunk* traveling through my living room. I looked around the corner to see my daughter had grabbed my shoes, and stepped inside of them, and started to try to walk around. It was hilarious!
This really caused me, not only a lot of laughter, but a serious moment of pondering the ways in which my feet are currently walking, the paths in which my life is currently taking, the choices that she is watching me make. It caused me to realize that more probably than not she will be walking in my footsteps in many ways.
This is a truth for every single one of us. This is a reminder to all of our lives. There are people – younger and older – who are watching our lives. Each one of us is creating a footprint for others to walk in.
In what way is your path leading others to hope, healing, and restoration? If somebody walked in your footsteps, would they find the Healer and Restorer? Or would they find endless and useless striving for inner peace and satisfaction apart from Jesus?
“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” ~ Ephesians 5:15-17
And as always… Be authentic. Give hope.
